GP Extra Service
Our GP Extra Service offers patients pre-bookable appointments outside of normal practice hours, to help you get the right care when it is convenient for you.
We offer the following services at Litherland Town Hall Health Centre, Monday to Friday, 5pm–8pm and Saturday, 9am–5pm:
- General practice routine appointments
- Cervical screening
- Chronic diseases annual reviews (diabetes, heart disease, respiratory problems)
- Pill and HRT reviews
- Physiotherapy
- Blood tests
- Blood pressure checks
We also run a triage service on weekdays, which means that patients may be called during weekdays by one of our advanced nurse practitioners to see if their need can be dealt with over the phone, or if they can be directed to a more appropriate service.
How to book
In order to use our service patients must be registered with a GP practice in south Sefton. To book an appointment, please contact your usual GP practice and ask for an appointment with the GP Extra Service. We are not able to take requests for appointments directly.
Appointments must be pre-booked - we will not be able to see you if you have dropped in without an appointment.
Outside of office hours or at weekends, anyone who needs to book an urgent appointment should continue to get in touch using the NHS 111 service.
